Championship Win for CVHS Girls’ Lacrosse Team

Sophomore Sophia Lima was effective on offense.

The Crescenta Valley High School girls’ lacrosse team finished off a historic season with a 12-11 victory over Palos Verdes to win their first ever CIF Division 2 championship!

Junior Goalie Bella Torres performed strongly with a career high 12 saves while senior captain Brianne Ballard led the team with five points (four goals, one assist). Sophomores Sophia Lima and Camden Ballard continued to be effective on offense with each scoring three goals while seniors Shari Park and Soph Katcheran each scored one goal. The defense remained resilient with Jane Marriott and Kaylani Parker leading the way.

The Falcons made it to the championship game with wins over Anaheim Canyon (14-7), San Juan Hills (15-14) and Murrieta Mesa (13-11). 

Besides winning their first ever CIF title, the team also won the Pacific League for the second consecutive year and set a school record with 19 wins. 

The Falcons finished the season on an 11-game winning streak to finish 19-5.
